Sensitive teeth often require special toothpaste that costs a bit of money and doesn't always solve the problem as well as it could. Redditor fenicks100 found out that switching to a toothpaste with simple ingredients and no special features did the trick and saved some cash:
Several years ago, I mentioned my sensitive teeth to a dental hygienist. She suggested that I switch to a toothpaste with Fluoride as the only active ingredient. No abrasives or detergents, strengtheners, whiteners, tartar control, or even ingredients that are designed to reduce sensitivity. On her advice, I switched from Colgate Total to Aim (ultra mint gel). Not only is it 1/3 the price, but my sensitivity has been greatly reduced.
Basically, just forego the complicated stuff and get normal toothpaste. If your current choice contains abrasives, it might actually be the cause of the problem in the first place.
